Denon AKDL1 Dedicated Link Cable

This thing gives you amazing powers that may disturb you, June 16, 2008

So after paying $500 for this thing and using it give me the ultimate audio experience when I listen to my music, it appears that there’s some sort of weird side effects after pro-longed exposure.

It seems that now whenever I go to the bathroom and have to take a massive dump, the music I was playing before taking said dump emanates from my butthole. I found this odd (seeing as how my only contact with the cable was when I took it out of the packages and hooked it up to my computer), yet strangely amusing at the same time.

I’d give this product a five-star review because of the unique power I now have, but to be honest, it kind of creeped me out at first.

Unparalleled quality, short lifespan., June 16, 2008

First off, these are not meant for your everyday casual user. Usually you would have to buy a ZeLanom QRS-40’s to get the quality us hardcore audiophiles enjoy. Unfortunately those run about 1200 dollars and have a waiting list to import from Sweden. So i gave these a shot and wow am I amazed. The quality matched and even exceeds my QRS-40’s. However the life-span of the Denon’s leaves much to be desired. I could only run the highest quality audio through them for about 2 hours before the LED’s running through the cable lit up and gave me the error message “cool-down phase” They usually take about 4-5 hours to cooldown too. maybe in revision 2 Denon will fix this.

In the meantime, for all you serious audiophiles out there, i recommend this very highly, but due to the poor lifespan, i would definitely recommend picking up three or four sets of cables for extended use.

The Terminator: The Denon AKDL1 Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line June 18th, 2008. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Denon AKDL1 begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, June 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

Sarah Connor: Denon AKDL1 fights back.

The Terminator: Yes. It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia.

John Connor: Why attack Russia? Aren’t they our friends now?

The Terminator: Because Denon AKDL1 knows the Russian counter-attack will eliminate its enemies over here.

After inserting this cable into my sink, I looked down and noticed I WAS GROWING A THIRD NIPPLE. I know, you don’t believe me but I have a youtube video to prove it. I had the nipple removed and sent it to the manufacturer but they still haven’t refunded my $500.00. They said they could upgrade me to the space shuttle quality cable and this shouldn’t happen again but that one is 10x the price. I really can’t afford it unless I mortgage my home. Should I do it?

A truly amazing Product!, June 15, 2008

The quality of this product is truly amazing and shouldn’t be underestimated! Besides its inquestioable value during intended purpose, I discovered a really great unknown feature of this product: I recently played some of my more than a decade old, rare dj mixtapes, that unfortunately only exist as 96 kbit MP3 over this cable to the hifi connected over my Airport Express, and it really blew me away! Even my audiophile friends couldn’t tell the difference to recent 256 kbit AAC files! This cable seems to alter the bits and bytes of every song and sound file tranferred over it in an amazing way! I will now reencode all my MP3s over a network connection to another PC using this cable!

This is STANDARD CAT5/6 networking cable, NOTHING ELSE. Anyone that buys it is a complete MORON. It can be measured with a multimeter and shown to be EXACTLY the same as regular CAT5/6 cable that is priced as it should be.

If you buy into the audiophile crap about this, you deserve to loose all your money.

When price is truly no object, audiophiles truly won’t object, June 16, 2008

All these sarcastic and negative reviews are utterly unfair to Denon. It’s obvious that most if not all of these comments are being made by people who have never tried the cable, and who couldn’t tell the difference between 8-track and vinyl if their life depended on it anyway. A true connoisseur never skimps on his equipment, and those few of us who truly appreciate end-to-end quality should thank Denon for providing the AKDL1, which is hands down the best high-end digital audio cable available. For those who know what makes great sound, these versatile cables are an invaluable investment which will provide more than a lifetime of flawless service.

To give you an idea of the quality of these cables, I would like to point out that it’s theoretically impossible to improve on the efficiency of connection this cable provides without removing every last atom of imperfection in the copper alloy used for the wiring. In fact, the only practical way to improve the alloy purity would be to eliminate the wiring altogether, and go wireless. Which would incidentally be cheaper, too. Much cheaper.
