Denon AKDL1 Dedicated Link Cable
It helped me see Jesus, June 17, 2008
Bending over to pick up the spilled bottle of A1 sauce, I accidentally bumped my head into the kitchen counter… At that point I noticed the spilled sauce was in the shape of Jesus!
Danger of sluggish bits, June 16, 2008
Always keep this cable absolutely straight! Otherwise the bits on the outer edge will arrive late resulting in misaligned byte packets. This could, for example, wipe months or even years off the timbre of a Stradivarius by introducing brittleness in the upper harmonics. It’s even worse with cheese.
I use these in my data center, June 15, 2008
Our company is dedicated to providing a quality audio download to our customers. As a result, we have been using these cables to interconnect our bit torrent servers to our TCP/IP backbone router for about a year now. Prior to installing these cables, our customers were complaining about the poor audio quality of our music downloads. Many would complain about jitter and other audio distortions caused by poor server wiring. Once we made the commitment to our customers and invested in the purchase of these quality cables, the complaints have stopped and our business has been booming.
Many of our competitors will use cheap wiring they purchased from Radio Shack or Fries. Some even use Fiber Optic links, claiming they are immune to jitter. But Fiber Optic links are known to degrade video downloads–the light in the cable will sometimes make the videos play with a reddish tint.
It doesn’t take much to hear the difference in audio quality offered by our bit torrent servers vs our competition and their lower quality cabling. Before spending a single penny on a music download, make sure the service uses AKDL1 cabling in their data center. You would be a fool to download from any other provider.
I got one for my computer, June 18, 2008
I liked my cable so much I bought one for my computer as well. Now my YouTube videos have much better bass definition, and the iTunes midrange is noticably warmer.
In sickness and in health, June 17, 2008
The AKDL1 and I are to be married this Saturday by the Head of the Denon R&D team in a small ceremony on the beach. I’ve finally found my Cable.
Impressive Marketing, June 16, 2008
What impressive marketing! Proof that you can put lipstick on a Bulldog and make people notice. Someone at Denon has some big stones or is desperate to hit their second quarter numbers and make their newly adjusted mortgage payments on their Pine Brook estate.
I don’t know jack about the product, but that isn’t the point. They are selling status and ego gratification, not something that is of any real, intrinsic value. Good job Denon, you know your customer base well.
Denon – BAD DOG, June 16, 2008
After seeing the disgraceful overpricing of this generously $10 cable, I looked at Denon’s own website.
I’m not sure whether they’re living up to their motto:
“Simply put, anything that does not provide more passion, improve performance or enhance the user experience does not belong in a Denon.”
If they don’t take these off the market, I will never look at a Denon anything again. Period. As consumers, we should make it a point to not be swindled and have our intelligence insulted. That said, some idiots probably just needed to be shown the dotted line. They deserve their fate.
trash can monkeys, June 16, 2008
I bought this cable hoping to improve my recording of monkeys banging on trash cans – about 15 minutes into the recording I noticed timber of the monkeys screeching and banging did have a little more “you are there quality” I was even able to pick out when the third monkey in the chorus (Jacko) flung some feces at the recording engineer….
Bravo, Denon, Bravo, June 15, 2008
And I thought Monster was doing a good job ripping people off. This is quite impressive.
